While summer is a great time to hit the beach/lake/pool, take a break from school, and celebrate ‘Merica, fall has to be the greatest season of all time. It boasts vibrant colors, fun festivities, costumes, cute clothes and of course Hokie football. You can get in touch with your pilgrim roots by harvesting apples and pumpkins straight from the source and devour them in dessert form over Thanksgiving. There are so many things to like about fall, like that adorable hedgehog juss chillin’, but here are my top five favorites:
5. Bonfire Nights

Whether its homecoming, a cookout or just hanging out with friends, fall is the perfect time for a bonfire. The wood is dry and primed for burning. The weather is cool enough to light a fire and enjoy some s’mores* with friends, but not too cold to freeze.
4. Almost pumpkin everything

I am definitely a fan of pumpkin picking, pumpkin chunkin’, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting — and most pumpkin-based activities, but I am NOT a fan of the infamous pumpkin spice latte, yuck.

3. Leaves on leaves on leaves

Leaves crunching beneath my feet

Leaves decorating country back roads

Leaves creating breathtaking views

Leaves making my fur nephew look even cuter, if that’s possible
2. Clothesssss
Jackets, boots, hats, vests, scarves, sweaters – oh the sweaters! Need I say more?

As if it wasn’t enough that fall has the best food, clothes, activities and foliage — fall represents Hokie Nation! ♥
Gives me all the feels.
*S’mores might be code for beer.
