Hey there Social Hokies!

Thanks to this class I finally have a reason to start blogging. (Although, somewhere on the internet you can probably find my sad attempt to start a travel blog.)
It was hard to leave vacation in the Florida Keys to come back to Virginia Tech.

Thankfully this is my last semester of undergrad. I’m excited to finally graduate and move forward with my professional career.
I am currently studying Public Relations with a minor in International Studies. I also work part time at that green and red Victorian house you’ve passed by on Draper Road, otherwise known as the Blacksburg Museum & Cultural Foundation. Stop by and check it out!
When I was a kid I desperately wanted to be a killer whale trainer and swim in the tank with Shamu. Here’s me at SeaWorld Orlando running the place:

I suppose that’s out the window now. #Freethewhales
These days I would love to do public affairs or conference planning for a government agency or the military after college.
I’ll admit I am probably the oldest Hokie in the class. To learn more about my story, click here.
I really want to make my remaining time in Blacksburg count. That’s why my goals for this semester are to:
- Find a job by December!

- Survive European Political Systems – You know, that course that has a more traditional professor, is not listed on Canvas or Scholar and has nine papers due throughout the semester. (Not an exaggeration)
- Complete my bucket list of things to do in Blacksburg. This includes things like eating at every restaurant downtown and hiking the “triple crown” on the Appalachian Trail.
There is one more goal that I’m pretty nervous about and keeping close to the vest. I will be happy to reveal said goal on the blog at the end of the semester if when I accomplish it. Fingers crossed!
That’s all for now.

Welcome back to the blogosphere 🙂
